Of course, there’s no Mardi Gras without New Orleans, so the French Quarter zone is where you’ll find Big Easy-inspired amenities like an Emeril Lagasse restaurant. There’s a main pool that can get quite busy, but then also an adults-only pool that’s a little more on the quiet side. However, the ship has received multiple refurbishments since, including in 2012, 2017 and 2021.

These suites offer loads of space and priority service that goes above and beyond what you’ll get anywhere else on the ship. Similarly, the porthole interiors staterooms don’t offer much in the way of views, but the extra natural light is welcomed. Interior staterooms are further broken down into Cloud 9 Spa interior staterooms, interior rooms with walkway views and interior rooms with portholes. Carnival Dream's two-deck Cloud 9 Spa (Decks 12 and 14) is 23,750 square feet of space dedicated to pampering, relaxation and fitness. At the spa, you'll find the usual array of treatments from massages (Swedish, bamboo, Thai poultice, hot stone) and facials (tri-enzyme, hydralift, microdermabrasion) to wraps, scrubs and ionithermie detox sessions.
WaterWorks and the extra-fee Warehouse Arcade are two other spaces kids enjoy. To enter the pool, hot tubs or use the water park, kids must be toilet trained; swim diapers are not permitted. To ride the Twister and Drainpipe slides, kids must be 42 inches or taller.
Here, you'll find the 303-foot-long Twister water slide; the 104-foot Drainpipe, which empties into a giant funnel; two smaller racing slides; and a host of splash features for smaller kids. (As with the pool, kids must be toilet-trained to play in WaterWorks.) On hot sea days, the line for the Twister is long, though it moves relatively quickly. With nearly 10 bars and lounges, you'll find plenty of spots to grab a drink on Carnival Dream, though the emphasis throughout is on tequila- and rum-based cocktails. Wine and draft and bottled beer (including an IPA) are also available. Most of the ship's lounges are located on Deck 5, making it easy to move among them. Take advantage of Carnival's onboard activities, including WaterWorks water slides, pools, sports courts, ropes course, mini-golf, video arcade, sports bars, casino, duty-free shopping, bars and lounges, art gallery and more.

Cabin decks have a total of 70 Suites, 817 Balconies, 258 Oceanviews, 678 Inside cabins, Self Service Laundromats (passenger use launderettes). Teens can also enjoy the Carnival Dream's Y-Spa youth spa program, which offers a variety of soothing treatments. Circle C is found on deck 4 and focuses on the tweens ages 12 to 14. This is a fun place, with dance floor, DJ, video jukebox, and Internet workstations. The room is 1,075 square feet, and kids love the modern design and hip furniture. Circle C has a dedicated director who oversees the tweens' activities, including late-night movies, video game contests, and pool parties. Enjoy conversation and your favorite drink with friends at various fun lounges and watering holes, such as the popular RedFrog Rum Bar, where you can try Carnival's very own ThristyFrog Red Beer.

During my recent sailing, I found all the Carnival classics, like the Alchemy Bar and Guy’s Burger Joint, a thrilling ropes course, dive-in movies, and plenty of themed deck parties. Rent cabanas or lounge in the ocean-view whirlpools at Loft 19, where attentive staff take care of everything, like delivering you fruit and chilled towels. My favorite spot to hang out was the aft Patio Pool because it wasn't ever super crowded, and the view of the ocean was unmatched. The ocean suite gives you plenteous ocean views, while the junior suite gives you a smaller space, but still all the VIP services that suite guests enjoy during a Carnival Dream cruise.
Carnival’s onboard waterpark, WaterWorks gives you plenty of fun in the sun with its wide array of water activities. The highlight is the huge Twister Waterslide, which isn’t for the faint of heart. Tweens (ages 12 to 14) and Teens (ages 15 to 17) also get their own hangout spaces on Deck 4.
Rooms are spacious; some come with exclusive perks like access to the Havana Pool area or unlimited use of the spa’s thermal suites. Kids will also love that there’s an onboard waterpark, kids club, and a Build-a-Bear Workshop at Sea. Originally debuted in 2021 as part of the Costa Cruises fleet (an Italy-based subsidiary of Carnival), the Firenze will set sail as a Carnival ship — with an Italian twist — in Spring 2024. Across Firenze, you’ll see touches of Italy; think cute cafe set-ups that look like they were picked up from a Florence sidewalk. Terrazza staterooms access a private sun deck with whirlpools and a bar.
